Jane Tilton BA(Hons), MIFA, MBRA, ITEC, Dip. ASK
I have been fascinated by complementary medicines ever since I was a child and made potions from flowers for my family. In later years a combination of various treatments cured a long standing problem of my own.
I have been studying and practising aromatherapy for over 20 years. I trained as an aromatherapist with the International Federation of Aromatherapies and have been a council member for them. I have written various articles for papers and have contributed to a book on pregnancy.
Since then, I have continued my studies, Reflexology with the British Reflexology Association, Reiki (I hold a level II certificate), Thai Massage, Indian Head Massage and Kinesiology in which I have a diploma of Systematic Kinesiology.
I really enjoy my work and also the teaching of baby massage and giving talks which bring news of aromatherapy and self help to as wide an audience as possible.
I live in London and Hastings. I enjoy travelling, swimming, visiting small theatres and cooking.
To find out how to book an appointment visit our Practicalities page.
If you are interested in having me come and give a talk to your group or setting up a baby massage group please call me direct on 07958 48 20 89.

Homeopathy is an enormously diverse and adaptable resource and I have gained experience of using it to treat a wide variety of health conditions. One of the things I think people value most about my practice is that it provides them with a space in which to discuss every aspect of their health both physical and emotional in an atmosphere of respect and support.
Much of my work involves the treatment of babies and young children with recurring acute infections, allergies, asthma and eczema, as well as sleeping problems, and behavioural or learning difficulties. I also treat a lot of mothers and fathers who may be struggling with the challenges of parenthood and the resulting physical and emotional stress. I have 3 children myself, so hope I can relate to some of these issues sensitively. Other very common health problems about which I am frequently consulted are menopausal symptoms, menstrual problems, digestive difficulties, depression and chronic fatigue.
I provide homeopathic treatment for a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions for all age groups. Services available at my practice are:
-
full health consultations and treatment using homeopathic medicines, herbal tinctures and flower essences
-
birth preparations sessions for expectant couples wishing to use homeopathy during labour, including hire of a childbirth remedy kit
-
15-minute drop-in consultations for minor acute conditions for only £10
-
allergy desensitisation treatment using homeopathy
-
individual and group supervision for student and qualified homeopaths
-
accredited short courses and one day seminars on homeopathy and flower essences

I came to Hypnotherapy after being impressed by its positive results on people that I knew directly. Once I started investigating how Hypnosis works I soon realized that all the preconceptions were pretty much irrelevant. The words Hypnosis and Trance tend to invoke images that are derived from old Hollywood films and men with pointy beards, cloaks and fob watches. ‘Victims' completely under the control of their masters. Or more recently, stage shows where people are hypnotised and will do ridiculous acts for the amusement of an audience. The first thing I learned was that the person being hypnotised remains completely in control and aware of what is going on around them. The experience of being in a trance is akin to being in a meditative state. It can be a deeply relaxing and enjoyable experience that is extremely beneficial on its own. How often do we take the time to truly relax during our busy lives?
Clinical hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to treat a variety of medical and psychological problems. It does not usually deal problems that have an organic origin but those that are due to emotional and psychological sources. It is estimated that 85% of people will readily and positively respond to clinical hypnotherapy, it may well succeed where other more conventional methods of treatment have been slow or unsuccessful at producing the desired results.
It is recognised that hypnotherapy can be of benefit for the following: Stopping smoking, Nail biting, Weight control, Healthy eating, Sporting performance, Exam nerves, Improved learning, Performance anxiety, Memory and concentration, Phobias, Self confidence, Emotional problems, Sleep problems, Compulsion and compulsive behaviour, Inhibitions, Pain control, Child birth, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Skin Problems, Anxiety and stress, Panic attacks, Bed wetting, Dental phobias and many more….
The first session is an introduction to hypnotherapy and an assessment of the presenting situation or condition. It will last for about 1hour 15mins. Subsequent sessions are 1hour, with the exception of the Stop Smoking session that can last for up to 2hours.
As a qualified clinical hypnotherapist I am committed to the promotion of good health and well-being of patients. I am also fully committed to following the ethical guidelines of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
Please do not hesitate in contacting me if you have any questions about hypnotherapy. For more information and charges please contact Bellenden Therapy Rooms on 020 7732 1417 or email

Neil Waugh
Traditional Thai Massage (TTM), is something everyone should try. Thanks to Neil Waugh you can experience this truly holistic therapy in SE15, at Bellenden Therapy Rooms.
The entire body, staring at the feet and ending at the head is treated. Acupressure along sen lines (or meridians) is combined with yoga style stretches and breathing exercises. Specific areas of tension (for example shoulders or lower back) can be focused on by the masseur.
The aim of the massage is to re-balance the body and mind. This enables energy to flow uninterrupted round the body, leaving you feeling deeply relaxed yet fully energised.
The entire massage lasts between 1 ½ to 2 hours. As it performed fully clothed please make sure you wear loose clothing (T-shirt and tracksuit trousers are ideal). The massage is performed on a mat on the floor and the masseur uses hands, feet, elbows and knees to work on areas of tension.
Cost for 1 hour is £40. A wonderful treat for yourself or someone you know.
Call the Bellenden Therapy rooms on 020 7732 1417 where Neil is available Thursdays 4 – 9pm and Saturdays and Sundays by arrangement. To contact Neil directly call

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, deeply relaxing therapy suitable for all ages and uses a non-invasive hands on therapy to resolve physical and emotional pain. I came to this therapy when I was preparing to have my own children, looking for a complementary way to look after myself and my family and qualified from the College of Craniosacral therapy in Primrose Hill in 2007.
From the pressures of day to day life to the stress of childbirth and family life, this safe and effective therapy can help restore balance and vitality into your life and improve well being. Craniosacral therapy can be used to treat sleep disorders, stress related illnesses and chronic conditions and works well with conventional medicine and other complementary medicine. I have even used this treatment to work with sprains and head and shoulder ache with great success.
This therapy is carried out on a couch with the client fully dressed. Most sessions take 45 minutes to and hour but you can experience an introduction to this treatment at Bellenden Therapies on Tuesday afternoons between 1-2 at our drop in clinic. Call Bellenden Therapies on 0207 732 1417.
